Telestrations Game Review
I was awarded a Telestrations game night by Tryazon. Telestrations is a game by USAopoly.
How do you play Telestrations?
When playing Telestrations, each person gets an erasable sketch book, dry erase marker, and a card with 6 items listed on each side. Someone rolls the die and the number showing is the number on the card you “play.” After writing the secret word on your sketch book, you flip the page and draw it. Everyone passes their sketch books to the next person who has to guess what you drew. They write their guess on the 
following page and pass the sketch book. The next person draws what is written, the next writes their guess, the next draws what is written and so on until the sketch book comes back to the original person. It’s a play on the old “telephone” game. Amusing things happen. For instance, Traci’s secret word was bartender. Jamie drew a really good bartender, with a bar, stools, bottles of alcohol, etc. However, Laura thought the stools looked like flying saucers, so she wrote “alien”. Nikki drew and alien and I guessed alien. So at the end, bartender turned into alien!
My Review
The game was played by both my family (which includes 13 and 15 year old boys) and a group of friends (made up of women 30-55 years old). What we found is that the larger the group, the more fun it is. With only 4 people in my family, there was not enough chance of messing up. We also found that the people who drew the worse, made it the most fun, because it was hard to guess what it was. Although the goal might be to guess and draw the correct thing, the humor comes from getting them wrong. The recommended age for this game is 12 years old and up. I actually think kids much younger could play this. Remember, the worse they draw and guess, the more hilarious the game is!
Everybody liked the game a lot. Normally, companies give an extra copy of the game to giveaway to guests. I was disappointed that the people who came to my party didn’t have a chance to win the game. The suggested retail price is $29.95, which I think is about $10 overpriced. However, if you want to purchase Telestrations, you can do so on Amazon.com.
